Nathanielle Morin, Canadian advisor to the Federal Minister of Women, this week has published a declaration defending the participation of the adviser to the marathons of women as a transgender biological man.
Morin referred to the recent decree of President Donald Trump who prevents Trans athletes from participating in female and girls sports in the press release.
“I am aware that my participation in so many competitions will be mentioned due to my medical history. The situation in the United States and the comments of certain politicians do not help either,” said Morin.

“With all the respect due to the level that I participate (recreational amateur), the state of scientific research in the field (for the amateur recreational level) and the fact that I underwent a medical transition, I consider that I The legitimacy to participate in the right category, unless the law forces me to do so. ”
Morin added that additional medical research will be considered the advisor weighs if he should continue to participate in the marathons of women.
Tuesday, Morin published a message on X which also addressed the status of the advisor as a runner of Trans marathon.

“Trans people only want to integrate fully as their authentic self and be happy in our society,” wrote Morin.
Morin has been evident in the 5 -kilometer Bougebouge which takes place on February 4, 2024. There, Morin came in first place with a time of 25:32, winning the title of “fastest female” in all categories of ‘age.
Morin’s finalist was a girl in the 10-12 year old category who ran at 26:08, who would have come in first place if Morin had not contributed.
If Morin was in competition in the men’s category, the transgender runner would have come in 10th place among all male participants.
In June 2017, all places in Canada must comply with the Canadian Human Rights Act, Equal Opportunities and / or Anti-discrimination legislation prohibiting discrimination against gender identity or expression gender identity. The law protects the inclusion of all trans athletes in female and girls sports.
Trump’s recent decree in the United States said that any public institution that allows athletes to compete in the sports of girls or women will lose its federal funding.
Trump has also repeatedly suggested that Canada join the United States, potentially as a 51st state.
