The Sindh Transport Department has launched a repression on the scale of the province of unsuitable commercial vehicles in order to reduce road accidents and improve security, local media sources reported on Thursday.

The Minister of Transport, Sharjeel Inam Memon, reportedly said that many commercial vehicles, registered in other provinces, were constantly operating in the Sindh using fitness certificates issued elsewhere.

He questioned the authenticity of these certificates, because the vehicles were not inspected at the time of the show.

Memon stressed that mechanically unfit vehicles contribute to the increase in traffic accidents, which put drivers and pedestrians in danger.

Under the new policy, all SINDH sales vehicles must obtain fitness certificates in the province’s motor vehicle inspection centers (MVI).

These certificates will include QR codes and modern security measures.

Commercial vehicles of the other provinces operating in the Sindh must also obtain local fitness certificates to secure road permits or renovations.

In addition, a valid driving license will be compulsory for all commercial drivers.

The government has also announced the creation of new MVI centers to regulate licenses and heavy vehicle inspections.

The initiative is aligned with wider efforts to limit road accidents and improve public security.

Last week, during an important meeting, held with the Sindh -chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, decided to take immediate measures concerning the physical form and the registration of all vehicles. This was announced by the main minister Sharjeel Inam Memon at a press conference.

He said: “It is compulsory for all heavy and small vehicles, including motorcycles, to have a valid fitness certificate. Vehicles without fitness certificate will not be authorized on the roads. Our first priority in this regard is heavy vehicles, he said.

The water card has implemented a barcode system for all registered oil tankers operating from authorized fire terminals. These bar codes are issued to vehicles that meet fitness standards. He said that a 30 -day grace period had been given for all vehicles to obtain a fitness certificate.

Vehicles entering the Sindh of other provinces will also have to obtain a fitness certificate from the Sindh authorities.

The certificates delivered by Punjab, Balutchistan or Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will not be considered valid in the Sindh. Sharjeel said that owners of exhibition halls have already prevented the delivery of unregistered vehicles. Any vehicle purchased in an exhibition hall must be recorded before leaving the premises.

The main minister said the Sindh government is committed to ensuring road safety and good vehicle regulations.

If someone buys ten cars from a company for investment, it will be compulsory to transport vehicles using a trailer or car carrier.
