- Nvidia has supposed to have encountered performance problems with fleas for its RTX 5070 and 5060
- This means that these GPUs have been theoretically delayed by one month
- Consequently, the initial stock levels of RTX 5070 can be thin on the ground
We hear more rumors on the RTX 5070 and 5060 GPUs from Nvidia being delayed and meeting hiccups with production, as well as levels of stock possibly low at launch (again).
Videocardz noticed an article on X of analyst Dan Nystedt, who reported a Times sales report, a Taiwanese media, making various statements on Nvidia who meets with the GPUs mentioned.
The latest series of NVIDIA RTX50 game graphics cards faces delays until mid-March as soon as possible due to performance problems in fleas, RTX5070 and 5060, which were to be debugged, the media report, While damage to the January 26 tranche Taiwan Earthquake is also a factor key in theā¦February 20, 2025
Apparently, the Blackwell fleas used in the RTX 5060 and 5070 (known as GB205 in the latter case, and the rumor A, GB206 for the first) suffered from performance problems that required last -minute addressing. And the need for this additional improvement at the end of the day “delayed the mass production calendar” (keep in mind that it is an article translated from the Chinese).
Commercial times also point out that “the Tainan earthquake has disrupted the production of TSMC plates” which is what the Blackwell chips of Nvidia are shaped, so that has worsened supply problems, we are told .
The report says that the end result of all this is that mass production of the new RTX 5070 and 5060 (remember, the latter GPU is not yet officially confirmed by Nvidia) has been delayed by about four weeks.
The theory presented is that Nvidia previously had targets of mid-February for the production lines RTX 5070 to execute a complete inclination and in mid-March for the RTX 5060, but this calendar was now pushed back in mid-March And in mid-April respectively respectively.
Analysis: a theoretical but depressing scenario
What does all this mean in practice? Well, maybe nothing – it’s just a bunch of rumors after all – but the fact is that it gets married with other speculations suggesting roughly the same thing: a delay from February / March to March / april. (This came from one of the most reliable sources for material linked to the equipment).
In addition to that, know with certainty that the RTX 5070 has been delayed – Nvidia initially announced that this GPU, and its partner TI, would both be on sale in February. And while the RTX 5070 TI is now planned, the RTX 5070 Vanilla version has indeed been awarded to a date of sale on March 5. (It should be noted that the TI uses a different blackwell chip, GB203, as opposed to GB205 in the plain 5070 – and therefore the performance problems of the chip mentioned would not apply to the first, because this chip has already been published in the RTX 5080).
In addition, as you may have noticed, the RTX 5070 TI is on sale today, but the stock has disappeared instantly. If you have a GPU, congratulations, you were lucky (and if you always hunt, consult our guide where to buy the 5070 Ti).
If the production of RTX 5070 is indeed behind the calendar as the rumor says – and that Nvidia having pushed the GPU makes things trembling here – then we can expect a lean level of supply, and the same flashing scenario with the RTX 5070.
All this is also depressing as depressing. Let me say this in this way: do you think that when the RTX 5070 is available for purchase in early March, there will be a lot of stock of stock? No, me either, even if I could, of course, be very wrong (and nothing will please me anymore, frankly, because I would like to buy one of these graphics cards).
As for the RTX 5060, we do not know if this GPU arrives soon, because Nvidia has said nothing officially, but the rumor mill believes that it is due in the near future. If this speculation is correct, however, we are now looking at mid-April, so the graphics card is still in a few months (in theory).
The most positive news brought with this Times sales report is that Nvidia is apparently “ that does all its possible ” to accelerate production for Blackwell GPUs and put everything back on the right track, and analysts think that the Dull offer will gradually improve in the future.
So I hope that this will not turn into a longer -term history of asymmetrical supply and demand, with seriously hiked prices, as we have seen in the past.
