Islamabad:
The Minister of Petroleum Musaddik Malik said Thursday that the government brought reforms in the energy sector, including deregulation of petroleum product prices and the elimination of unnecessary regulations.
Addressing a ceremony at The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) and Schlumberger, Malik said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had formed a committee for the rights of government institutions to keep only the ministries and institutions that benefited the public.
“All unnecessary laws, unnecessary regulations are deleted. Only the most essential will be preserved, everything else will be abolished,” said Malik. “We are working on the deregulation of petroleum products prices,” he added.
The Minister said the government introduced major changes to the energy sector and in this regard, the Prime Minister had given clear instructions. “The country is changing, now we will depend on the interior resources. We will progress with the country’s own energy resources.” (With application input)
