A rare sambar deer was rescued by the fauna authorities after having crossed Pakistan from India.
The deer was found in the border area of Jandiala and was safely placed in detention following a rescue operation, Express News reported.
Local residents alerted the authorities after spotting the deer, which was then transferred to the fauna park in Jallo for care and rehabilitation. According to fauna officials, the deer is healthy and young, and it will be closely monitored as part of its recovery process.
The authorities have hypothesized that the Sambar deer, which is generally in India, may have wandered through the border due to disorientation or natural migration.
The managers of the fauna department expressed their relief that the deer was found unscathed and is now under professional care at the sanctuary.
