The founder of Binance, Changpeng Zhao (CZ), recommended that the support be interrupted withdrawals as a safety precaution after a piracy of $ 1.5 billion on Friday.
“This is not an easy to manage situation. Could suggest to stop all withdrawals a bit like a standard security precaution. Bring any assistance if necessary. Good luck,” he wrote in a post X.
In response to concerns that it stirs fear, CZ added: “1.5 billion is a fear. Better to be safe than sorry.”
Arkham’s data show that Bybit still has $ 20 billion in assets, and the CEO of the company, Ben Zhou, said that the exchange “was solvent even if this loss of piracy is not recovered”.
Blockchain Sleuth Zachxbt revealed that the pirate is starting to divide the stolen ether, with two lots of 10,000 ETH spread over 48 addresses. 200 million dollars in methamphetamine and Steth have also already been exchanged on decentralized exchanges.
