Washington: Elon Musk, the billionaire advisor to American president Donald Trump, warned that all American federal employees were to provide an account of their work week or risk losing their jobs.

Musk’s drastic measurement comes just hours after Trump announced the decision to request “more aggressive” stricter measures to reduce public spending and eliminate waste.

“In accordance with the instructions of the president @ realdonaldtrump, all federal employees will soon receive an email asking to understand what they did last week. The lack of response will be considered as a resignation,” said an article on X Musk, whom Trump hit to lead the new Ministry of Government Effectiveness (DOGE).

MUSK – The richest person in the world and Trump’s largest donor – led the effort to be drawn from the federal workforce.

His post X did not explain what was necessary in the work accounts, nor the deadline.

Earlier on Saturday, Trump declared on his Truth social platform that Musk “was doing a great job, but I would like to see him become more aggressive”.

“Remember, we have a country to save,” added the republican chief.

Trump has placed the technological entrepreneur in charge of DOGE, trying him with the reduction of public spending and the fight against waste and alleged corruption.

In the latest cuts announced on Friday, the US Defense Ministry must reduce its civil labor by at least five percent from next week.

Trump administration has already started to fire many other federal workers who have probation status.

DOGE is an entity in freedom led by Musk, although its cost can have met with declines on several fronts and mixed court decisions.

On Thursday, a judge denied a union offer to temporarily stop the dismissal of thousands of people.

Musk said this week that he would work with Trump as long as he “can be useful”, because the pair rejected concerns about conflicts of possible interests due to government contracts of the technology magnate.

Trump praised Musk, the head of Spacex and Tesla, in an interview with Fox News, calling the billionaire “brilliant”, “honest” and a “very good and good businessman”.

“If there is a conflict, he will stop it. But if he didn’t do it, I would stop it,” said Trump. “We are talking about big things, but he’s under a fairly big microscope. I mean, everyone looks at him.”

Musk said that Doge had his actions published on his website and that transparency would hold him responsible.

“The possibility of getting away with something is zero percent,” said Musk. “I am examined at a ridiculous degree.”

Musk also plunged into the Ukrainian conflict this week, attacking President Volodymyr Zelensky and claiming that the Ukrainians “despised” their president – strengthening Trump’s criticism of the war.
