CJ Afridi advised PTI to “operate in the system”

Islamabad:

PTI President Gohar Ali Khan confirmed that Pakistan chief Yahya Afridi advised the former power party to “operate in the system” and not to resort to boycott policy.

Gohar was part of a PTI delegation that met the Afridian judge on Friday. The meeting took place a few days after the CJ met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

During the meeting, the party had explained to the Afridi judge that he had not recognized on the 26th constitutional amendment – the same amendment which paved the way to the appointment of the Afrida judge as the first judge – and urged him to refrain from “judicial packaging”.

The delegation had also urged the chief judge to “put your home in order” and to guarantee the rule of law and the constitution in the country, claiming that the judicial system had been reduced to a “crime instrument” under His watch and that he was his responsibility to repair it.

Answering a question about the discussions that took place during the rare interaction, Gohar admitted that the CJ had advised them to “operate in the system”.

“We met the chief judge yesterday. Our accusation sheet against the government is quite extensive. We are not very satisfied with the judiciary either.

“During the meeting, we presented our concerns concerning the judicial attitude. Treating the PTI in this way is neither just for democracy nor for the rule of law,” he said by discussing the Journalists from the Islamabad district courts.

Lawyer Gohar said that a delegation of an emerging alliance of the opposition parties had gone to Karachi.

“We form an alliance with all the parties of the opposition. The movement aims to maintain the Constitution and to prevent the voting rig. Political parties have their own manifestos and internal processes, which is why these movements take time” , he said.

He said the PTI had initiated negotiations with the PML-N government with an open heart, hoping for a resolution through dialogue. However, the government did not take it seriously and acted in a hurry.

Answering a question about the politician of Brands Sher Afzal Marwat, who was expelled from the PTI recently, Gohar Ali Khan said it was an internal party affair. “We follow a regular procedure when someone violates party discipline,” he said.

The president of the PTI said that the founder of the Imran Khan party would make a decision concerning those who left the party following a repression of the government after May 9, 2023. “Akbar S Babar also claims to be part of the party, but It is his personal perception.

To a question on the open letters of Imran which he recently written to the chief of the army, General Syed Asim Munir, he declared that the letters responded to serious concerns to prevent a flaw between the army and the people. “The internal questions of the PTI are entirely in order and there is no block before within the party,” he added.
