A transgender basketball player was absent from a playoff match in California on Saturday evening after a week of attention and controversy of the national media.
The Trans athlete had led the San Francisco Waldorf women’s basketball team to a 9-8 file and a meeting in the playoffs against Cornerstone Christian School.
But in the absence of the Trans athlete, San Francisco lost to Cornerstone 56-30.
No reason has been given for the absence of the athlete. San Francisco Waldorf did not respond to the request for comments from PK Press Club Digital.
Several demonstrators attended the match on Saturday evening on the Cornerstone campus which brandishes signs with anti-trans mail. But these signs were not transported by plane in the gymnasium after the demonstrators realized that the trans athlete was not there, sources told PK Press Club Digital.

The athlete played in the Waldorf women’s volleyball team in the fall, which caused qualifying series by Stone Ridge Christian in November.
However, Cornerstone Christian promised to participate in the match on Saturday against the Trans player, that PK Press Club Digital was the first to report on Tuesday.
The news that Cornerstone would play the inflamed national media coverage, in the midst of a continuous conflict between the state of California and the administration of President Donald Trump on the question of transplants in the sports of girls.
In addition, the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) is the subject of an investigation by the Ministry of Education of Trump (DOE) and Office of Civil Rights (OCR) while it continues to ask schools to authorize Trans athletes to compete as women in defiance of the president’s decree.
DEE assistant lawyer Candice Jackson previously told PK Press Club Digital that the Department was monitoring the state basketball playoffs when she is investigating.

“CIF defines the parameters in which schools compete in these series, and they have responsibility as beneficiaries of federal funds to comply with title IX. The OCR survey on CIF continues because it seems that the CIF contempt for title IX continues, “said Jackson.
Trump’s decree would reduce federal funding for any institution that allows athletes to compete with girls and women.
According to USA Facts, California public schools receive approximately $ 16.8 billion per year, ie 13.9% or one in seven dollars in public schools, which is well above the national average.
The CIF did not respond to a request for comments on the situation involving the next elimination match.
The CIF previously declared to PK Press Club Digital that it would continue to follow the legislation of the state, which has been in force since 2014, on the issue of Trans athletes.
“The CIF offers students the possibility of belonging, connecting and competing in experience -based experiences in accordance with the law of California [Education Code section 221.5. (f)] which allows students to participate in school programs and activities, including teams and sports competitions, in accordance with the manner’s identity of the student, whatever the genus listed in the student archives, “said the statement.
A law called AB 1266 has been in force since 2014 and gives Californian students at school levels and collegials the right to “participate in programs and school activities separated by sex, including sports teams and competitions, and to use Installations in accordance with its gender identity or its gender identity, whatever the genre listed on the student’s recordings.
However, California legislators introduced several bills to reverse this law in 2025.
The member of the California State Assembly Kate Sanchez announced one of these bills on January 7, then the member of the Bill Essayli Assembly presented a similar on February 14.
