The male basketball of Fresno State is mired in a sports game scandal, and ABC 30 Action News learned that two of the three athletes involved would have bet on the matches in which they played.
The Bulldogs removed the striker Mykell Robinson from the team while suspended the Jalen Weaver and Zaon Collins guards for alleged sports betting.
ABC 30 Action News reports that Robinson and Weaver have placed bets that their team was going to go under their projected points and bounce back. This is a clear violation of the NCAA rules, which prohibit students athletes, coaches and athletics staff to bet on games or provide information to anyone involved or associated with everything Type of sports betting.

The rule includes sports betting involving intercolllegia, professionals or amateurs or competition games.

ABC 30 Action News also reports that the Fresno State male basketball coach, Vance Walberg, was the one who discovered the alleged game of his players and informed the University. After a first internal investigation, the NCAA was involved in an investigation into itself.
Fresno State told ESPN that Weaver and Collins “were hidden from competition while the university examines a question of eligibility.”

These are two of the best scorers in Bulldogs this season, with Weaver on average 12.5 points per game, while Collins is closed at 12.0 points per game and leads Fresno State with 4.7 assists per game.
Meanwhile, Robinson has not been part of the team since January 11.
Fresno State Athletics also told ABC 30 Action News that he would no longer comment on the question “for the moment”.
The Bulldogs have lost 10 consecutive games, having a record of 5-23 this season, which represents a record for most defeats in a single campaign.
