New rain, comes out of snowfall to hit the country

Islamabad:

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted a new rain period on Sunday across the country this week, with the possibility of hailstorms in Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Islamabad.

The PMD also provides snowfall in northern areas, with the rain scheduled for cashmere and Gilgit-Baltistan from February 25. Karachi is likely to experience a mainly cloudy sky, bringing cooler temperatures compared to the previous days.

According to the PMD, a meteorological system to the west is expected to enter Pakistan, bringing precipitation in various regions. Due to the planned rain, the ministry warned of sudden floods and the risk of landslides in hilly areas.

“The system should enter the west of Pakistan in the evening of February 24 (today), extend to the upper parts by February 25 (tomorrow) and persist in the north areas until March 2 “Said the PMD.

The Gilgit-Baltistan and Cashmire will attend strong snowfall and thunderstorms from February 25 to March 2, affecting areas such as Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad and Poonch.

KP will experience heavy rains and snowfall in Chitral, Swat, Manshra, Abbottabad and Peshawar from the night from February 24 to March 1. Meanwhile, Mrree, Galliyat and the surroundings will see moderate snowfall in Lourdes from February 25 to March 1.

Raws and thunderstorms are also planned for Punjab, affecting Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad and Sialkot. Some southern districts, including Multan and Bahawalpur, will receive rain from 25 to 27 February.

Quetta, Ziarat, Shaman and other high altitude areas of Balutchistan will experience snowfall between February 24 and 26. Light rains are also expected in certain parts of the Sindh, including Larkana and Sukkur, from February 25 to 26.
