San Diego Padres launcher, Cole Paplham, was at the reception of a 102 -half trip to the head on Sunday in a spring training match against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The incident occurred at the bottom of the eighth round. Paplham launched ground to the Dodgers’ interior field player, Aaron Bracho, on a 2-0 account. Bracho returned the ground directly to Paplham. He went down for several minutes before going to a golf cart and removed the ground.

Padres manager Mike Shildt said Paplham “seemed to be alert” when he was trying to shake the scary incident.
“Our prayers are with him,” said Shildt, via MLB.com. “He was aware, seemed to be alert, knew where he was. But clearly a frightening thing … He was clearly in a certain pain, and obviously when something like it happens, a little shaken.”
Paplham has been in the Padres minor league system since 2023. He played at college college at the University of New Orleans, then participated in the MLB Draft League for the scrappers of Mahoning Valley.
