The first Walking Street, based on the underground hug in the Saddar shopping center, Bank Road, is expected to be inaugurated on February 26. The chief minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz) Muhammad Ali, director general of the MLC, Irfan Ahmed Malik, and the members of the National and Provincial Assembly will attend the ceremony.

Completed at the cost of RS1.2 billion, the section of a kilometer from Murrier Road on the police station is one of the busiest in Rawalpindi, which houses the best outlets.

In the first phase, all air cables, including electricity and telephone, large centers and heavy transformers have been removed and all types of wiring were transferred underground. After launching a new sewer system, hard tiles, new spacious trails, beautiful benches to sit, a modern lighting system and new food cabins for quality food and drinks have been installed on The road.

Executive toilets were built for visitors and families in the commercial area.

Bank Road was divided into four blocks and paths were provided only for pedestrians. Heavy doors were installed at the beginning and at the end of each block, while the roads of the road and the cashmere roads connected to Bank Road were kept open to traffic.

Electric vehicles are now available in the four blocks of the street, offering a free shuttle service. Bank Road has transformed into the most occupied and most picturesque rue de Marche in the commercial area, attracting crowds of pedestrians who like to shop in a pleasant environment. In the evening, the number of buyers doubles compared to the day.

The deputy secretary and spokesperson for the board of directors of cantonment, Rawalpindi Rashid Saqib, said that work was underway on the underground wiring project on the Haider road in Saddar, the Route du Cachemire, the Adamji route and the Mall. Saddar Bazaar’s business centers, Hospital Road, Hathi Chowk, Coal Center and Police Station Road will also be part of the underground wiring and embellishment project.

The initial work began on a project to make a five-star Hotel Chowk, TM Chowk and Mall Plaza Chowk on Mall Road Signal-Free. The plan includes an underground pedestrian street between Plaza medical stores and the Cardiology Institute of the Armed Forces on Mall Road. The official launch of the project will take place soon.

SAQIB said the Punjab government would spend 4.38 billion rupees on this project. The work will be completed in six months. With the completion of the project, the three intersections mentioned above on Mall Road will become without signaling, where the difficulties encountered by citizens in traffic will be eliminated.
