On February 27, 2019, tensions between India and Pakistan increased considerably following a series of air commitments in the disputed region of cashmere.

The Air Force Pakistani (PAF) said that it had made air strikes in the Jammu and the cashmere illegally Indian, which led to the drop in an Indian plane and the capture of its pilot.

This confrontation occurred one day after the Indian jets entered the Pakistani airspace, targeting what they claimed as a militant camp. These incidents marked a significant escalation between the two nuclear weapons neighbors.

Later in 2019, on August 5, the Indian government has taken a decisive stage by revoking the special status of Jammu-et-Cachemire, which had been granted under article 370 of the Indian Constitution.

This decision effectively repealed the autonomy of the region, leading to its reorganization in two territories of the Union: Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. The decision was accompanied by a power failure and an increased military presence to preempt potential disorders.

To date, Pakistan has condemned the unilateral actions of India in IIOJK and calls for the resolution of the cashmere dispute through a comprehensive resolution and the United Nations Security Council.
