Eddie Hill, a former NFL ball carrier who played for the Rams of Los Angeles and Miami Dolphins, died, one of his old teams announced on Monday. He was 67 years old.

“We are saddened by the death of the former dolphins who run Eddie Hill, who played for the team from 1981 to 1984”, wrote the team on X.

No official cause of death has been announced. Almost eight years ago, Hill opened to the Sun-Setinal about his health problems and revealed that he had fought against brain cancer. He told the newspaper that he thought he was also dealing with chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or CTE, which would be caused by repeated heads.
“Each life has a goal and football was one of those biblical and scriptural things that I learned early in the life that applied to me, the gift,” he told the newspaper in May 2017 , adding that he had no regrets to play sport.

The Rams chose Hill in the second round of the 1979 NFL draft in Memphis.

He played for Los Angeles for two seasons, including an appearance at the Super Bowl in his recruit year. The Rams fell to the Pittsburgh steelers in the Super Bowl XIV.
He was exchanged in Miami before the start of the 1981 season. He played four more years with the Dolphins before calling him a career.
He appeared in 75 games and had 443 yards on the ground with two affected on the ground. As a special team player, he kicked in total for 330 yards.
