The founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, asked members of the Party occupying government roles to withdraw from their positions within the party.
The directive, communicated through the secretary general of the PTI, Salman Akram Raja, aims to give Junaid Akbar, the new president of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa section of PTI, a free hand to reorganize the party.
Raja, addressing journalists after visiting Khan in Adiala prison on Tuesday, assured that Khan was healthy despite the concerns about his well-being.
He also revealed that Khan was planning to write to the chief judge of Pakistan Yahya Afrida about questions in the penitentiary system, noting that the prison administration would have been under the control of “invisible forces”.
The secretary general of the PTI addressed the party’s position on current issues in the Sindh, including the resistance to the construction of dams, reaffirming PTI’s commitment to fight for the rights of the people of the province.
In addition, Raja underlined the determination of the party to engage with each institution, declaring that PTI would strike the doors “to respond to concerns, in particular the light of the controversial adoption of the 26th constitutional amendment.
He also expressed Khan’s disappointment in the face of Pakistan’s performance in the ICC champions trophy, adding that the state of national cricket had saddened the former Prime Minister, who noted the deep connection that the inhabitants of Pakistan have with sport.
