Senator Faisal Vawda expressed his frustration with regard to the foreign nations by telling Pakistan how to manage his business, by calling him “shameful” that foreigners teach in the country on how to solve his problems.

At a meeting of the Senate finance committee, chaired by Senator Saleem Mandviwala, officials of the Ministry of Finance provided a briefing on electricity subsidies. The ministry proposed to limit subsidies to electricity to the beneficiaries of BISP, the continuous efforts of the Ministry of Finance, the Division of Electricity and Related Companies to implement this policy.

Senator Faisal Vawda, in his remarks, condemned foreign criticism, calling “extremely shameful” that foreign diplomats told Pakistan how to solve his problems. He also added that Pakistan loses $ 2.2 million a day due to these problems. VAWDA called at the end of the committee’s “drama” and demanded that those responsible for creating these policies be held responsible.

Senator Anusha Rahman said that there should not be electrical subsidies, declaring that such politicians would transform the whole country into beggars, not only affecting poor women, but also men. She suggested that those who can afford electricity bills should pay them and have called for the resolution of RS 33 billion contributions in suspected electrical subsidies for industries in Karachi.

Managers of the Ministry of Finance replied, declaring that the case is currently in court, K-Electric having obtained an order for suspension of the judiciary.

Senator Farooq H. Naik expressed his conviction that nobody really cares about Pakistan, citing the comments of the Iranian diplomat as “shocking” and “embarrassing” for the nation. He also mentioned that these statements opening for Pakistan and that they were to be taken seriously.

The Committee also discussed the issue of 600 trucks blocked on the Pakistani-Iranian border, the Iranian diplomat explaining that Pakistan had imposed a banking guarantee requirement, which had led to a daily loss of $ 2.2 million. Senator Saleem Mandviwala noted that the trade translated between Pakistan and Iran had stopped due to the regulation of complex customs and the taxation of banking guarantee.

Customs officials confirmed that there was no banking guarantee requirement for draft trade, but for bilateral trade between Pakistan and Iran, the condition is in place. They also clarified that third -party goods cannot enter Pakistan by the barrier trade.
