Islamabad:
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) influenced a fine of 10 million rupees to the National Transmission and Depatch Company (NTDC) because of its negligence in maintenance work that has led to accidents.
In a verdict, the Nepra ordered the NTDC to submit the fine within three months. He said that the SOP established was not followed during the maintenance work.
NEPRA also ordered compensation for affected employees and their families. He said non-compliance with security protocols was a violation of the Nepra Act. Accidents raise serious concerns about NTDC’s performance and capacities, he added.
The authority said that she had asked the NTDC to investigate accidents. Despite the adoption of eight months, the company did not submit the final request report.
The NTDC is an electricity transmission company managed by the Pakistan Ministry of Energy. It was separated from WAPDA in 1998. The company has the grid stations and the 220 kV transmission lines and 500 kV in Pakistan.
