The tenth season of the Super League Pakistan with six teams (PSL) will start on April 11 with a match between the reigning champions Islamabad United and the two times the Champions Lahore Qalandars in Rawalpindi. The matches – 34 in total – will be played through Rawalpindi, Karachi, Multan and Lahore, with the playoffs for Rawalpindi (May 13) and Lahore (May 14 and 16) and the final also in Lahore on May 18.
The renovated Gaddafi stadium of Lahore will host the most matches, 13, including two of the playoffs and the final, while Rawalpindi will welcome 11, including the opener and the first qualifier, and Karachi and Multan will accurate five games each. There will be a total of three double heads: Peshawar Zalmi vs Quetta Gladiators in Rawalpindi and Karachi Kings vs Multan Sultans in Karachi on April 12; Sultans vs Kings in Multan and Qalandars vs Gladiators on May 1; Sultans vs Gladiators in Multan and United Vs Kings in Rawalpindi on May 10.
“We are delighted to officially announce the calendar of the 10th historic edition of the Super League Hbl Pakistan,” said PSL Director Salman Naseer in a PC statement. “Over the past decade, the HBL PSL has become a world -renowned tournament, presenting the best of Pakistan cricket talent.”
This season, there will also be a exhibition match in Peshawar before the start of the tournament – the teams have not yet been announced, but it is scheduled for April 8, three days before the start of the tournament itself.
“As part of our commitment to extend the scope of the PSL HBL, we are delighted to organize an exhibition match in Peshawar before the start of the tournament, which is an important step to bring high level cricket to Peshawar, a city with a deeply rooted love for the game,” said Naseer. “We are dedicated to improving the experience of players, fans and stakeholders, who have attended breathtaking contests in the league over the years.”
