The former Vikings player calls walz “ shame in football ” on the inclusion of trans athletes

The former Vikings of Minnesota and the University of Minnesota football player Jack Brewer will join the conservative activist Riley Gaines for a rally in his original state to put pressure for a bill to prohibit transgender athletes in female sports.

The “Preserving Girls’ Sports Act” was adopted in the State Education Policy Committee on February 20 and will be elected on Monday in the House of Representatives. If he passes there, he will go to the office of governor Tim Walz, where he is supposed to be opposed to the veto because Walz is an ardent defender of transgender rights.

Brewer, the founder of the Jack Brewer Foundation, told PK Press Club Digital that he found the positions of Walz Pro-Trans “disgusting”, especially since Walz was a football coach at the Lycée at Mankato West High School in the 1990s.

“It is absolutely disgusting, and that is why, when you see it and you see its ways and the way it is worn, you know that this guy does not call on real men and boys who fought it on the grill, guy. I have nothing in common with this guy,” said Brewer.

“I think it’s a shame for the world of football to be honest.”

In April 2023, Walz signed the “Trans Refuge” bill that protects people who seek and provide gender care in the state. Recently, Minnesota has been investigated by the American Department of Education for challenging the recent executive decree of President Donald Trump “No Men In Women’s Sports” because Minnesota continued to allow athletes Trans to compete with girls in high school.

How transgender in sports changed the 2024 elections and sparked a national counterculture

Walz’s daughter Hope Walz has recently become viral for a series of Tiktok videos in which she spoke out against Trump’s decree and to defend transgender athletes.

Brewer hopes to have a conversation with the governor on this issue.

“When I get there on Monday, if he would invite me into his office and I have a conversation on this subject, I would accept it respectfully,” said Brewer. “I would tell him that I know that in his heart, he does not believe it.

“I think that deep down, he knows it is bad. I think he is trying to call on a liberal base of the far left … and to collect funds. These LGBTQ groups give a lot of money, especially in Minnesota. So the money and the power they really pushed this legislation.”

Brewer does not expect Walz to sign the bill if he reaches his office.

“You know he’s not going to do it because it was just who he continued to be,” said Brewer. “I pray for him to have a change of heart and an alarm clock, but I’m sure if he signs it, it will be just because the money train has ended.”

Gaines also told PK Press Club Digital that she does not expect Walz to sign the invoice.

“I am quite certain that Governor Walz would oppose his veto to this bill,” said Gaines. “But even if he does not have the best possibility of being signed, it is so important that we have these members, these representatives, these senators, in the file. Do you stand with women or not?”

The Walz office did not respond to the request for comments from PK Press Club Digital before the publication.
