The 76ers said that the decision to close Embiid in the 2024-25 campaign section was taken once it was determined that it was “medically unable to play”.

“The Philadelphia 76ers and Joel Embiid consulted the best specialists concerning the current problems with his left knee. After a more in -depth assessment, it was determined that he is medically unable to play and will miss the rest of the season to focus on treatment and rehabilitation,” the team said in a statement.

According to the 164 games, he missed his first two seasons after being the third choice in the general classification of the 2014 NBA and what remains of this season, Embiid will have played in 452 of the 883,76ers at the end of this season – missing almost 50% of the regular season.

“I think the simple answer is that when you have something incoherent, at some point, you have to do something,” said Embiid. “We don’t know what it is. We are examining all the options.”

He played only 39 games last season due to a meniscus torn to the left knee. Embiid won a gold medal with the American Olympic team last year at the Paris Games.

He only played 58 regular season games and seven games and playoffs since he won the honors of the League MVP.

Embiid signed a contract extension of $ 193 million before the season and banned nearly $ 266 million in career income.

Philadelphia has entered this season as one of the favorites to face an NBA title, but the team is being sequence of nine consecutive defeats. The Sixers entered 12th place on Friday in the classification of the Eastern Conference.
