Friday evening, the government reduced the prices of petroleum products for the next 15 days, while the PUIL and the Regulatory Authority for Petroleum (OGRA) reduced the rate of liquefied oil gas (GPL) for the month of March, according to separate notifications.

The financial division declared in a press release that the price of high -speed diesel (HSD) had been reduced by RS5.31 per liter, Motor Spirit (petrol) of RS0.50 per liter, rs3.53 kerosene oil and light diesel oil (LDO) of RS2.47. In addition, OGRA informed a reduction in RS6.15 per kilogram in the price of the LPG.

“The Petroleum Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has examined and adjusted consumer prices for petroleum products for recent fluctuations in the international oil market,” said the finance division. The prices came into force from midnight Friday and would be effective until February 15.

According to the press release, the HSD price reduced from RS263.95 to Rs258.64; MS (petrol) went from RS256.13 to RS255.63, Upper Kerosene Oil from RS171.65 to RS168.12 and LDO from RS155.81 to Rs153.34.

Meanwhile, the rate of a GPL cylinder for domestic use decreased by RS72.57, according to the OGRA notification. The notification indicates that the price of the LPG rate for the month of March would be RS247.82 per kg. Consequently, an 11 kg cylinder would cost RS2 924.31, down compared to RS2 996.88 in February.

The LPG, also known as cooking or lawn, is widely used in Pakistan as an alternative fuel mainly for domestic and commercial cooking. In addition, it serves as an energy source in the automotive sector, industrial applications and electricity production.
