Polio is a paralyzing disease without remedy, and the completion of routine vaccination for all children under the age of five gives them great immunity against this terrible disease.

The first national polio campaign in 2025 reached more than 45 million children earlier this month, a statement from the Pakistani Polio program.

He added that a FIPV-OPV campaign in the Quetta and Karachi division took place between February 20 and 28, vaccinating approximately 0.9 million children with injectable and oral polio vaccines for an additional increase in immunity.

In addition, a targeted vaccination activity in 104 bordering union councils in Afghanistan or in the process of making Afghan refugee camps also took place this week to reduce the risk of transflining and internal poliovirus transmission, vaccinating more than 0.6 million children.

The polio program has urged all parents to have their children vaccinated against polio on each occasion to protect them from this devastating disease.
