The first complete trailer for the new season of Doctor WhoWho arrives in April on Disney + internationally and on the BBC Iplayer in the United Kingdom, is there – and it seems that we are promising ourselves through time and space as Ncuti Gatwa, the fifteenth doctor faces sinister cinemas, a competition of interstellar songs and the return of the mysterious Mrs of Anita Dobson.
The most intriguing, the trailer – which you can check just below – gives us our first appropriate preview on the new companion Belinda Chandra, played by Varada Sethu, who is a different character in “ boom ” of last season, seems to be more than Karen Gillan of impressive producers to win a full -time role.
Throughout the trailer, we see glimpses of the original character of Sethu, Mundy Flynn, with the doctor like how “there is something that already connects us”. Could we be for a character Clara-Esque sprinkled in the chronology of the doctor? Anyway, Belinda is not eager to be along the way, the arc of the season seeing the duo head towards an epic quest to bring the new companion to earth.
The new images also reveal Traitors The United States hosts the new villain of Alan Cumming, Mr. Ring-A-Ding which emerges terribly from the silver screen in 1952 to provoke a chaos of cartoons, while confirming that we have not seen the latest playful neighbor of Dobson when it does not appear in the public of a version of the content of Eurovision song, animated by Rylan Clark.
As expected, there is also the return of former companion Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson) alongside Mel (Bonnie Langford) and Kate (Jemma Redgrave), despite the pair that is preparing for their own unit spin-off.
To watch
The trailer arrives in the midst of rumors of cancellation of the show, with some affirming that Gatwa increasingly on demand had left the role and that Disney, disappointed by the viewing figures for last season, sought to end the production partnership after the last batch of episodes-which could both lead to the BBC by putting the SCI-FI on the ice.
However, the broadcaster recently published a statement to Radio time Before the concerns of fans saying: “This story is incorrect, Doctor Who has not been put aside. As we said previously, the decision on season 3 will be taken after the difficulties of season 2.”
If Gatwa started after season 2 of the show, it would mark the shortest mandate for an actor in the role (not to mention the 60th anniversary of David Tennant as fourteenth doctor) since the surprise of Christopher Ecclestone after a season in 2005.
It should be reiterated, however, that nothing is confirmed at the moment, and without official sign that the fifteenth doctor regenerates as soon as possible, the eyes are firmly on what awaits us when the new season falls on BBC Iplayer and Disney Plus on April 12.
