- YouTube could plan a large overhaul of the home page of its TV application
- The new layout would incorporate more streaming services
- Creators will be able to display their content in episodes and seasons
YouTube has picked up major changes to its TV application, and it seems that one of these new features could see the addition of streaming content more at the request of services such as third party services such as Netflix.
It is according to a new report of the information that we see by The Verge, which reveals that a new overhaul of the home page should be launched in the “next months”.
The update should facilitate the vision of the best streaming services to which you subscribe via the YouTube TV application, to which you can access via prime time chains. The big difference that the change will be instead of hiding this content in the “Films and TV” tab, it would include it on the home page alongside the videos of your favorite creators.
It is similar to application interfaces like Apple TV and Video Prime, which act like hubs for all your subscriptions. However, not all services are available via the channel during great listening hours, which varies according to your region.
For example, American users can access Max on the channels during the prime time of YouTube, while British and Australian users cannot. This should change as part of the quarter of the overhaul, however, because YouTube would have told the information he had ceased to offer new services because of his fight to integrate paid content into the application.
Youtube streaming domination
YouTube has been the most popular streaming platform for some time now-it had a majority share of 11.1% of television and streaming broadcasting in the United States in December 2024, according to a report from Neilsen.
It is not surprising when you consider that looking at YouTube on televisions has become the favorite device to access the video sharing platform compared to phones and laptops, which makes it even more integrated into our domestic cinemas.
As part of the wider youtube plans to make its application more like your favorite streamer, the service also said that it will give its creators a new feature that allows them to format their content in episodes and seasons – just like one of the best Netflix shows.
This change was announced in September of last year and should be widened more with plans to add features that will allow you to automatically preview a film or a show on the home page when scrolling – just as you would see on the Netflix home page.
Kurt Wilms, Senior Director of Products Management at YouTube, said Information That the service envisages these new automatic overviews mixing content from third -party applications with creators’ videos.
To which the new youtube TV application will look like and if these new features will become available is not yet defined, of course, but we will keep an eye on updates and we will report as soon as we have more news from Youtube on the modifications it plans to launch.
