- The new rollerblin compliant with hand luggage is available in three colors
- It is part of the Peak Design ecosystem, with a new XL camera cube made for special purpose
- Prize of $ 599.95, with a crowdfunding campaign from March 4 to April 17
Peak Design unveiled its first rollerclass, the Premium Roller Pro, with innovative features and familiar design keys from its camera for camera accessories.
The roller compliant with hand luggage is available in three colors – Black, Eclipse (a Bordeaux shade) and SAGE – and is currently funded by March 4 to April 17 with a donor price of $ 599.95, and should land on the Peak Design website from the end of June.
There is also a new dedicated camera cube (XL) designed to maximize the internal storage of rollerblading pro for camera equipment that requires additional protection, which costs $ 139.95 (the price of the United Kingdom and Australia for the two items is TBC).
Of course, there is no guarantee with crowdfunding campaigns, but I have already had my hands on a wise prototype Roller Pro for weeks (and I have tested many peak design products over the years, mainly camera equipment, such as the outdoor backpack, camera cubes, travel tripod and the light of the camera), and I can imagine the latest roll for many years to come. Let’s take a look at what it offers.
An expensive roll that is a dream to manage, and built to last
Peak Design sent me a prototype of the pro rollerblading several weeks before his announcement, and I can tell you that this is a completely different proposal from rollerblading from standard parts.
It is a high-end cutting-edge design product through and through, with a four ultra-slit and agile wheel sets, plus a low-solid solid carbon fiber handle, rather than swinging telescopic tubes. The handle is hidden in an aluminum frame and takes up less space inside the roller box, which means more space for your business.
The exterior of the roller is a type of sustainable and expandable soft shell, with a familiar peak design appearance and an additional superior upper handle (softening this temptation to hoist the housing loaded by the extended handle), while a hard polycarbonate shell structure ensures the rigidity and the protection of what is inside.
I love the way the main compartment opens for packaging and unpacking. Unlike the other rollers that double the imprint when you open them, the top in Pont -dessin du Roller Pro is vertically found – ideal for when you are in narrow spaces trying to access the camera equipment, or at an airport to frantically research of this thing you need.
With so many camera accessories in his wallet, Naturally Peak Design has thought about the storage a lot. There are dedicated and secure compartments for items such as a laptop, small interior zipped pockets for important elements such as a passport and memory cards, as well as a wide variety of protective camera cubes – including the new XL version, which means that you can customize the way you divide the camera equipment / personal items for your needs, for a trip.
It is still early for my Roller Pro tests, but I can already see it become my roller case for many years of travel and photography trips. The elephant in the room is the price of the product list – about $ 600 for the case is fairly high, and it is before adding the cost of accessories for camera equipment, such as camera cubes.
However, if it is as durable and versatile as my time with it so far, the Roller Pro could ultimately prove to be an excellent value. I will share more reflections further on the way to a long -term examination.
