- You can now order the LG G5 OLED TV in the United Kingdom
- John Lewis is the first retailer to launch pre -orders
- The launch prices are identical to its predecessor, the LG G4
The first prices of the LG G5 OLED TV appeared online, and they are surprising (and fortunately for our wallets) are the same as those of their predecessor, the LG G4.
John Lewis is the first retailer to indicate the prices for four of the LG G5 models; Sets 55, 65, 77 and 83 inches. The price of the G5 site on John Lewis is as follows:
- LG 55 inch G5 OLED: £ 2,399
- LG 65 inch G5 OLED: £ 3,299
- LG 77 inch G5 OLED: £ 4,499
- LG 83 inch G5 OLED: £ 6,999
These launch prices are identical to those of the predecessor of the G5 the LG G4, one of the best OLED TVs in 2024.
These prices in the United Kingdom result from the recent European price version for LG G5, C5 and B5 models, which were also the same as the 2024 range.
Interestingly, although there is no mention of the new 48 -inch model of the LG G5 on John Lewis, a quick search shows that Peter Tyson listing him at a price of £ 1,799. This is almost in accordance with the price of € 2,100 indicated in European prices.
Another interesting note is that there are two different 55 and 65 inch models – the G54LW and G56LS. The first comes with a wall mounting and the second comes with a stand, although there is no price difference.
Pre -orders are available on John Lewis’ website and this also shows us our first potential release date, with all the announcements showing a suggested delivery date ” from 3 to 4 weeks, which means that customers can expect their television at the end of March / early April, which has been the general model in recent years.
At the time of writing this document, there is no price or pre-orders available for LG C5 or LG B5 OLED televisions in the United Kingdom.
A welcome surprise
Although we had an idea that launches the prices of the LG G5 would remain the same as last year, thanks to European prices a little over a week ago, it’s great to see it confirmed.
Each time the latest television models are revealed, with the LG OLED 2025 television range arriving at CES 2025 in January, we are still planning an increase in prices compared to its predecessor, generally to take into account new features and, of course, inflation. In previous years, there was an increase of around £ 1 to 200 in each model (this was the case with the LG G3 and LG G4), we therefore plan that this could also be the case with the LG G5.
However, the European price of LG OLED TV gave us hope and it is excellent news that the same is true for the United Kingdom. Although on paper, there is not a big difference between the G4 and the G5, the G5 now supports the cooling rate of 165 Hz and has what I think is its most exciting potential upgrade: an increase in the brightness of 40% full screen, which was suggested by LG to CES.
Although we have not yet completely tested the LG G5, I am so impatient to get your hands on it to see how it results from its five -star predecessor, the G4. And once we have discovered prices for LG C5 and LG B5 lows, we will inform you.
