- A disclosed image apparently shows the DJI OSMO 360 alongside the insta360 x4
- The lens is larger than the X4, suggesting a different sensor size
- Its design is more in common with the GoPro Max, whose successor is delayed
Dji seems ready to muscle in the 360 -degree camera space, if a series of rumors and a recently leakage image are something.
Tireless dji -leaker @hakasushi shared the said image of the DJI Osmo 360 on X (formerly Twitter), in which it is alongside insta360 x4 – which is the best 360 -degree camera currently available – and the Osmo Action 5 action camera (see below).
Based on the image, @hakasushi makes an observation on the OSMO 360 of the rumor – its diameter of the lens seems to be wider than the X4. This probably means that the OSMO 360 has a larger image sensor.
Based on the history, this is not surprising. The OSMO action of DJI 5 Pro deprives the size of the sensor on resolution, in order to better a low -light image quality than GoPro Hero 13 Black and Insta360 Ace Pro 2 Rivals, among other advantages.

The size counts
Pious wishes would indicate that the OSMO 360 sensor is a much larger size of 1 inch – the same type found in the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 camera.
However, we would not be surprised if DJI uses the same 1/1.3 inch sensor as action 5 pro in its 360 degree potential camera – which is always larger than the 1/2 inch type used by the Insta360 X4, even if it is a little smaller than a 1 inch sensor.
The disclosed image, if it is authentic, also confirms that DJI has identified the square factor of square type similar to the Gopro Max as preferable to the stick of the stick type of the Insta360 X4 – and this is bad news for Gopro whose Max 2 has been affected by many delays and must still be published.
Each design is better suited to different users. The square design is probably better for extreme sports because it is less likely to interfere, while the stick factor is undoubtedly better for vlogging.
Dji is on a roll, and the launch of his first 360 -degree camera would be a welcome shaking in a space dominated by Insta360 – we expect it to be a different perspective from the X4.
