The winner of the Swat Nobel returns home

Shangla:

The winner of the Nobel Malala Yousafzai Prize went to his hometown Barkana on Wednesday in the Shangla district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the first time since his survival of an assassination by the Taliban in 2012.

During her visit, Malala met family members and paid tribute to her ancestral cemetery. She also visited her uncle, Ramazan, who recently underwent cardiac surgery in Islamabad.

The house officer of the Karora station (Sho) Amjad Alam Khan confirmed that Malala arrived in Barkana by helicopter, accompanied by her father, Ziauddin Yousafzai, and her husband, Aseer Malik, whom she married in 2021.

Malala also visited the school and the college she created in 2018 to provide free education to nearly 1,000 girls in the district, who had not previously had a college of girls from the operational government.

“Malala met students, inspected the courses and told them while urging them to study and make their future brighter,” said Sho Khan. He added that the Malala fund would continue to guarantee high quality education for free in the institution.

During her visit, Malala also stopped at the house of her maternal parent, Faiz Ahmad, where she met family members.

The education activist Shehzad Roy, who directs the Shangla Girls School and College under Zindagi Trust, was also present on this occasion. He informed Malala of the installations provided by the college.
