A security guard was killed during a dismissal incident by motorcyclists in the Karachi Pechs Society region. According to a press release from Karachi police spokesperson, the incident occurred in Bloc 2 de Pechs, on rue 4, where armed motorcycle operations opened fire, causing the death of Mirza Sajid Baig, 38.
His body was transported to Jinnah hospital for a post mortem exam.
The victim, a resident of the Lines region, worked as a private security guard for a security company. The night of the incident, he exercised his duties in the region when the attackers opened fire and fled the premises.
Local residents said the shooting occurred around Sehri when the community was busy preparing Sehri. They discovered Sajid’s body covered with blood shortly after hearing the gunshots.
Residents have also mentioned that the region had increased street crimes and vehicle battery flights in recent months.
Despite several requests to the Ferozabad police to increase police patrols in the region, no measure has been taken.
However, they noted that after Sajid began working as a security guard, crimes in the region had decreased.
Police recovered three doubles spent from a .30 bore pistol on the crime scene. The unit of crime places came to the location to collect evidence and the victim’s family was informed.
In another incident, one person was injured during a shooting on the superhigne near Dha 9, Gadap City. According to police, Zahid Hussain, 69, was injured in an attempted flight.
The victim was taken to Fatima Bai hospital via an Edhi ambulance. Police investigate the case.
