The attempt of a woman to get on a moving train from Lahore station almost ended with a disaster, but thanks to the rapid actions of a railway police officer, his life was saved.
According to a spokesperson for the railway police, the incident occurred when a family tried to get on the Karakoram Express, Express News reported.
While the woman tried to climb on board, she lost her foot and was about to fall under the train.
Images of video surveillance of the scene show the gendarme Rafaqat Ali, who was in service on the platform, rushing towards the help of women. He caught it just in time, preventing him from falling under the moving train.
The rapid response and the presence of mind of the railway policeman saved the woman from what could have been a fatal accident. The family, who was traveling from Lahore to Karachi, expressed his gratitude to the gendarme Rafaqat Ali for his heroic efforts.
