The Denver Broncos separated from the second coach Michael Wilhoite following the assistant’s arrest at an airport last month.
Broncos head coach Sean Payton made a declaration in moving.

“After in -depth discussions as an organization, I met Michael Wilhoïte and I informed him that we decided to separate,” said Payton, via ESPN. “We recognize the serious nature of the allegations against him and believe that it is the best line of conduct at the moment. I appreciate Michael’s contributions to the Broncos and I am convinced that he will advance in a positive direction.”
Wilhoite was arrested on February 23 for the second degree assault against a peace agent, prison files said.
Wilhoite had left his car unattended for a while, and an airport officer was approaching him and told him that he could not do so, KDVR-TV reported, citing a probable report. He would have said that the officer explicitly be silent.
After being told again to leave the car unattended, Wilhoïte would have approached the officer in an aggressive manner and hit the chest in the victim, which made him go back. “

Wilhoite was pushed before hitting the officer in the face. His next hearing date is March 10.
Wilhoite was a free-drained free agent of Washburn when he obtained his first taste of NFL’s action in 2012 with the 49ers of San Francisco. He played for the 49ers throughout the 2016 season.
He signed with the Seattle Seahawks in 2017 and only played for them.
Wilhoite fixed the prospect of the ranks of the NFL coaches in 2019 when he signed as an assistant of special teams with the New Orleans in the staff of Sean Payton. He was then one of the Los Angeles load staff in 2021, their coach of the seconds. He was released after the 2022 season.
In 2023, he joined Payton but with the Broncos.
The Broncos went from a team at the bottom of the league in points and yards authorized in 2023 to one of the best defenses in the NFL in 2024 – classified third of the authorized points and seventh in authorized yards.

Denver made the playoffs but lost against the Buffalo Bills in the Wild Card Round.
