The two players climbed awkwardly in the net, Gibson remaining on the ice for several minutes before getting up slowly and leaving the ice with help. O’Connor received an interference penalty from the goalkeeper, and Lukas Dostal came in relief from Gibson.
Gibson stopped 19 of the 21 strokes he faced before leaving and Dostal made 14 stops. The Ducks dragged 3-1 at the start of the third period, but could not connect to a potential equalizer.

Anaheim won an impressive 6-2 victory against the champions in the Western Conference, but their hopes in the playoffs took a safe hit with defeat. Vancouver is also fighting for a place of qualifying series and won the victory if necessary.
