The singer-songwriter of Country Music Ingrid Andress broke her silence for the first time Thursday, almost a year after she admitted her rehabilitation after her admission that she had been “drunk” during her controversial national anthem to the 2024 mlb home run derby.
Andress, 33, appeared on “Viall files” Podcast this week to discuss the benefits of his performance and what happened just before taking the ground at Globe Life Field in Arlington in mid-July.

“This day started as one – which seemed to be a normal day,” recalls Andress. “At that time, like that day, I knew I was drinking, but I really loved the smuggling feeling that I felt, and so I did not stop.”

The quarter Grammy nominated explained that a recent split with his first manager and a breakup had encouraged him to start drinking excessively in the months preceding his performance. She admitted that in her state at the time, she was not aware of the reaction of the crowd and fans at home and had believed that she had “in a way nailed”.
“It was only when I woke up the next day I said to myself” ok, it’s so different from me. It’s not ok. I need help “,” said Andress. “I did not know how viral the video became because I had never experienced anything like it.”
Andress later admitted to a statement that she shared on social networks that she had been “drunk” by singing the national anthem. She said Thursday that she shared the plane declaration for rehabilitation.

“I am not going to the bulls — You, I was drunk last night,” reads his declaration. “I verify myself in an establishment today to get the help I need. It was not me last night. I apologize to MLB, all fans, and this country that I love so much for this interpretation.
Andress said on Thursday that she had received an overwhelming amount of hatred and felt like “the America’s punching bag”. She joked by saying that because of the political climate at the time, she took comfort knowing that she could at least unify people on one thing.
“I would say that at the time, politics really bubbed, and I just have the impression that there was a lot of anxiety in general during this period. So, if something, I have the impression – I agree to be the punch bag of America, because for a moment, everyone was united in the fact that it was horrible. So I feel like I was getting rid of America.”

Last month, Andress had the opportunity to redeem himself and interpreted “The Star-Spangled Banner” in a NHL game in Colorado. She also published a new single earlier this week.
She said Thursday that after her stay in a detoxification treatment and time with her family at home in Colorado, she felt ready to come back.
“I spent a lot of time with the family, then I said to myself:” I think it’s time to reappear. “”
