- Despite its footprint, the MT1 bed is the same size as an electric hummer
- Some variants will boast up to 500 hp
- The Silicon Valley start-up says that the first units will be shipped this year
The world is not nice to the EV start-ups, with Canuno and Lordstown Motors succumbing to financial pressures, while even established names like Ford and Chevrolet had difficulty finding a captive audience for their battery-powered pickups.
But there is a new start-up on the stage and Telo, a company from Silicon Valley co-founded by driving expert Jason Marks and the battery engineer of Tesla Forrest North, hopes to make a name for the mantra that the mantra is not always better.
Nicknamed an “urban adventure vehicle”, the diminutive MT1 presents the same imprint as a mini Cooper is modern, but has levels of Toyota Tacoma practice and load capacity.
Inside, there is enough room for five adults, but the truck bed is larger than a R1T Rivian and everything is for smart packaging. Without the need for a huge combustion engine or a large transmission, Telo was able to maximize the interior and the loading of the space.
That said, there should be a warning on the length of the bed estimates, while Telo’s load space extends over the rear seats, with an intelligent mid-term “mid-term” in place when you want to transport passengers.
According to Telo, the small but powerful electric truck can transport plywood leaves 4 feet by 8 feet and surf boards up to 8 feet with a split rear seat configuration. There is also a retractable tons blanket to protect the kit and a lockable storage tunnel from Rivian-Esque under the bed.
Despite its small size, Telo claims that it will offer the truck with the option of a unique 300 hp engine configuration or a 500 hp monster double -engine configuration which is associated with a 106 kWh gargantuan battery as well.
It seems exaggerated, but the company wants the MT1 to be able to transport 1,600 pounds (around 725 kg) of kit and be able to tow 6,600 pounds (almost 3,000 kg), while offering a range of around 350 miles, as well as the capacity to charge from 20 to 80% in 20 minutes.
Prices start at $ 41,520 (approximately £ 32,000 / 66,000 in) for the single engine variant and increased to $ 49,019 (around £ 38,000 / $ 78,000 in) for the double -engine model and all wheels. A smaller standard battery is included in this price, or customers can oppose a long -range version for additional $ 3,980.
It is available in eight different colors and can be specified with a handful of neat optional extras, such as a solar cabin roof, a rigid shell canopy for the rear bed and solar panels for the barrel cover.
However, Telo is currently taking reservations of $ 152, which is not a guarantee that it will not only be another start-up of Flash-in-Pan electric truck.
Show Tesla how it is done

With the backlash against the founder of Tesla and CEO franc by beating, the Cybertruck seems to take the weight of everyone’s frustration, with reports of vandalism and even criminal fire in Tesla exhibition halls while anti-liteist protests broke into the United States and Europe.
With its bizarre angular style, its excessive imprint and its blinding stainless steel body panel, Cybertruck seems to represent everything that some pockets of the population cannot stand about Tesla and Musk at the moment.
Telo, on the other hand, adopted a completely different approach. Rather than focusing on making a daring and undoubtedly selfish declaration, the team started with practice and its own slightly clumsy looks naturally followed.
Measuring five massive feet (1,524 mm) shorter than the Toyota Tacoma, it always manages to offer a similar quantity of storage space, without the footprint of the road.
Easy to park, simple to film in animated cities and capable of rolling up your sleeves and getting dirty with your hands, that’s all that cybertruck is not.
