The criminal, Tyrone Rose, then redirected the URL to his co-conspirator, Shamara Simmons.
The criminals were charged with large second degree, first -degree computer falsification, conspiracy in the fourth degree and computer falsification in the fourth degree – and risks up to 15 years in prison if they were convicted.
High value targets
The scams targeting popular events such as sports competitions, shows and concerts, in particular the Taylor Swift Extremely Popular – Tournation Tour – are common because criminals seek to take advantage of the urgency of quick sales tickets. In this case, the tickets were purchased via a perfectly legitimate site, but customers have always been frauds, which makes this matter particularly worrying.
“According to accusations, these defendants tried to use the popularity of the Taylor Swift concert tour and other large -scale events to benefit from [expense] Others, ”said the district prosecutor Melinda Katz.
“They would have exploited an escape through an offshore ticket seller to steal tickets for the largest concert tour of the last decade, then responded to these seats for an extraordinary profit of more than $ 600,000.”
