Maryam Nawaz surpasses the other provincial CMs in governance, reveals the survey

A new survey has revealed that a majority of Punjab residents consider the governance of chief Minister Maryam Nawaz positively, in particular in education, health care and infrastructure, while concerns remain on employment and inflation.

The survey, conducted by the Public Opinion Research Institute (IPOR) in the 36 Punjab districts, revealed that 62% of respondents evaluated Maryam Nawaz’s first year of power as “remarkable” in the resolution of public issues.

In education and health care, 73% and 68% of respondents, respectively, evaluated the performance of the provincial government as “good” or “very good”. However, 63% expressed their dissatisfaction with the efforts to create jobs, calling them “poor” or “very poor”.

Overall, 57% of respondents believe that governance standards have improved in the past year, while 17% said they had aggravated. A similar 57% estimated that the government had effectively responded to the main concerns of the public.

According to the survey, 60% of Punjab residents think that Maryam Nawaz has surpassed the chief ministers of the other three provinces. Its most well -received initiatives include improvements in education, health care, infrastructure and the “Punjab” campaign.

The report highlights an improvement of 15% of education, 14% of health care, 11% of infrastructure and 11% of cleanliness efforts. However, residents have identified employment (13%), health services (13%) and inflation control (12%) as the most urgent problems requiring attention.

The survey also revealed that 53% of respondents think that Punjab governance has improved by the framework of Maryam Nawaz compared to the Pakistani government Tehreek-E-insaf (PTI).

The survey was carried out between February 3 and 18, collecting responses of 66,000 residents in rural and urban areas.
