Bafou of production order Peeves Gilani

Islamabad:

The president of the Senate, Yousuf Raza Gilani, took the authorities on Saturday for not having produced the imprisoned senator of the PTI Ejaz Chaudhry, despite the issuance of production orders.

While the Senator of Pti Aon Abbas Buppi was presented, the repeated fluffing of orders concerning Chaudhry prompted Gilani to refer the question to the Privileges Committee.

Meanwhile, Buppi seized the moment to tell his test in the room, expressing his gratitude to Gilani for his “position of principle”.

In his decision, Gilani said: “Such contempt for parliamentary authority cannot be authorized to persist without control, because he threatens the institutional integrity of the Senate and the broader democratic framework.”

He officially responsible the committee to revise the question and to submit a report.

“I refer by this to the question of the non-nomination of the production orders concerning Senator Ejaz Chaudhry to the Committee of Privileges for his examination and his report,” he added.

While recognizing the presence of BUPPI, Gilani noted: “However, once again, the directives concerning Senator Ejaz Chaudhry have not been filled, equivalent to the non-compliance of the president’s legal orders.”

He warned that ignorance of the Senate directives constituted a “violation of the privilege” under rule 71 of the rules of procedure and conduct of the Senate, 2012.

Quoting a similar flooding of the orders of his mandate as a speaker of the National Assembly (1993-1997), Gilani recalled: “It is not an unprecedented situation,” adding that it had been “forced” to take similar measures in the past.

He reaffirmed his commitment to respect the rule of law and parliamentary supremacy.

Bappi details the internal test

Meanwhile, once presented to the Senate, Buppi told his ordeal, thanking Gilani for his “position of principle” and for refusing to chair the procedures if the two PTI senators were not produced.

Buppi also appreciated the minister of Law Azam Nazeer Tarar for his “position”, saying that this led to a reduction in “some of the difficulties and oppression” against him.

Recounting the events of March 6, Buppi said that at 8:30 a.m., around twenty people entered his house in Multan, breaking the front door and relaxing the staff of his house. Without appointing any law enforcement agency, he said that a “joint operation” had been carried out, which also targeted its factory.

“I slept with my wife when they hit the door so hard that the lock broke and they entered,” he said.

Buppi also allegedly alleged that individuals demanded his mobile phones, and when he could not produce them immediately, they threatened to imprison his 16 -year -old son. Her son was only released after a cleaning worker recovered the phones.

Buppi told his appearance in court, where he was sent to pre -trial detention. By comparing his case to those of Fawad Chaudhry and Shehryar Afridi, he sarcastically qualified the charges held against him as “respectable fir”.

The PTI senator said that his only “fault” directed an anti-inflation campaign in southern Punjab, remaining faithful to the founder of the PTI, Imran Khan, and pleading for imprisoned PTI leaders.

“These are my faults for which I could have been punished for two days and could also face the future,” he said.

It is relevant to note that Gilani had issued production prescriptions for the two PTI senators a day earlier, ordering the authorities to ensure their presence during the session on Saturday. However, Chaudhry, who remains incarcerated in Kot Lakhpat prison in Lahore, was once again brought home.

The absence of Chaudhry on Saturday marked the third production order without implementation for him. In January, Gilani published a similar order so that Chaudhry could attend the session of the Senate on January 14, but it was not produced, which prompted the opposition legislators to organize a demonstration holding his photos.

Chaudhry was arrested for the first time on May 11, 2023, under article 3 of the maintenance of public order (MPO) as part of the violence of May 9. Although the High Court of Islamabad declared its detention under the Invalid MPO, it was arrested on May 25 and transferred to Lahore.
