- Security concerns limit the adoption of Chatppt in certain large global companies such as Apple, Amazon and Bank of America
The rapid climb of the Chinese AI Deepseek was unprecedented, but the buzz surrounding its weathered is vanishing, with new research offering new information on the global adoption of AI.
An office study, carried out between January 2023 and December 2024, by examining 2,385 employees in 97 companies using its time monitoring tool says that Chatgpt remains the most used AI tool in the world’s workplaces, the adoption rates that continue to grow.
The survey revealed that in December 2024, 75.9% of world offices had joined the Chatppt in their workflows, India opening the way, with 92% of the workplaces interviewed on the reports using the tool.
The American adoption Chatgpt is late on the global average
In the United States, the adoption of the workplace increased from 68% in 2023 to 72% in 2024. Although this growth was slower compared to other regions, the time spent on the use of Chatgpt has increased significantly, with 42.6% of employees reporting greater use.
At the same time, individual adoption reached 28.3% of employees in the United States, a notable increase of 17% in 2023.
Desktime’s study also revealed that 75% of American offices used AI tools, including Chatgpt and other similar platforms in 2024, marking a slight drop of 76% the previous year.
Interestingly, the adoption of the AI fluctuated throughout the year, with the use of 63% in January 2024 before moving to 81% by October. These variations suggest that seasonal working trends, business policies or the evolution of attitudes towards automation can influence AI adoption rates.
Despite general use, the slower pace of the adoption of the new Chatgpt workplace indicates that companies without exposure to it hesitate.
“Although the adoption of Chatgpt varies from one office to another, it is always used on almost 75% of American workplaces. The slow growth in the use of chatgpt could be attributed to the adoption of other generative AI tools, as well as to the company’s policies that prohibit or restrict the use of chatgpt for work purposes due to concerns about data security and confidentiality, “said Arts Rozentals, CEO of Desktime.
“For example, Apple, Amazon and Bank of America are well -known names known for restrictions on the use of the tool.”
