As in previous years, this year also, the Punjab government has announced an operation against encroachments, however, taking into account the immutable nature of the problem, it seems unlikely that repression will bring any long -standing improvement of the problem of encroachment.
According to documents obtained by L’Express PK Press Club, operations against illegal encroachments are underway in 41 districts of 10 divisions in the province, the largest number of operations carried out in the Lahore division. In total, 55,361 operations were carried out in Lahore and three other districts, where more than 3,000 stores were sealed, fines worth more than 400 million rupees were imposed while 500 cases have been recorded. The next day, more than 5,000 permanents and more than three million temporary encroachments were eliminated.

On the other hand, Tanveer Ahmed Khan, a former director of companies, stressed the fact that the political nature of the encroachments led to their establishment and their possible dismissal, stressing the need for better legislation and municipal planning.
Addressing the Express PK Press Club, the Minister of Punjab, Uzma Bukhari, said that chief minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif was determined to carry out anti-training operations fairly and planned to rehabilitate the unemployed affected by these actions.
“The government does not wish to create unemployment. Erasering encroachments and taking up the resulting challenges faced on the markets is crucial to ensure the sweetness of traffic,” said Bukhari.
