The Indian media said that a religious scholar, who had played a role in the capture of Indian operator Kulbhushan Jadhav, was shot in Turbat, Balutchistan on Friday.
According to police sources cited by The newsArmed attackers targeted the scientist as he left a mosque after doing night prayer.
“Armed men driving motorcycles opened fire on Mufti Shah Mir and critically injured him,” said police, adding that he was immediately transferred to Turbat hospital where he died.
Mir was close to a religious-political party. He had survived two attempts at his life in the past. However, this time, he was killed in the attack.
The Indian media also said that two other people related to the party – Wadera Ghumlam Sarwar and Maulvi Amanullah – were shot dead last week by bicycle attackers in what local police described as targeted murders.
The one security guard also suffered bullet injuries.
Yadav, a former Indian Navy commander deployed by the Indian Agency’s research and analysis wing (RAW) as a high -level spy in Pakistan to orchestrate terrorism and the insurrection in Balutchistan, was arrested on March 3, 2016.
He was tried before a military court who sentenced him to death for espionage and subversive activities. However, the order has not yet been implemented while the International Court of Justice (ICJ) has published a suspension.
