- A serious bug struck some old chromecast devices
- 2nd generation chromecastes and chromecast audio dongles are affected
- Google says it now works on a solution for the problem
A strange bug has struck the audio devices Chromecast and Chromecast, preventing these devices from flowing normally – and users are getting more and more angry when they wait for a correction to take place in affected gadgets.
As indicated by 9TO5google and Android Authority, the bug has surfaced in the past few days, throwing some error messages. All users are able to do these messages and nothing else, which means that the devices are practically unusable.
An error message can be read as follows: “Unreliable device: [name] I could not be checked. This could be caused by an obsolete firmware. “The other said:” We could not authenticate your chromecast. “There are links to Chromecast support, but there is nothing on these support pages to help you solve this specific problem.
On Reddit, there is a lot of current ventilation – ventilation on chromecastes in general, and Google is slow to answer the question. However, it now seems that an official correction is on the way.

Chromecast does not work. of R / Googlehome
Since the new Chromecast and Chromecast Ultra models of the 3rd generation have not been affected so far, there had been speculation that Google was quietly taking older devices without any warning for people who used them.
However, this does not seem to be the case. A survey on the problems on Reddit underlined the blame on a problem side (therefore out of user control), and in particular a safety certificate that had not been properly renewed.
The good news is that an official Google account on Reddit has published to say that Google is aware of the problem and that engineers work on a fix. In the meantime, the advice is to wait for it, and not to reset the reset devices – which is the first logical step to try when something like it happens.
If you have already made a complete reset on your Chromecast, Google says that it will give you recovery instructions in due course. In the meantime, we will keep our eyes and ears open for the promised fix.
