Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif asked the relevant ministries to work with the private sector to reassess the efficiency and awareness of the awareness campaign for the 20 billion Ramadan rupees’ relief package.
During an examination of the package monitoring mechanism at the National Telecommunication Corporation in Islamabad, the Prime Minister stressed that only about 20% of the funds were removed from digital portfolios, attributing this low absorption to a lack of awareness.
He encouraged eligible people to call 9999 to obtain the necessary information regarding the digital portfolio system.
“This aid package is not a favor, but a right for deserving people,” said the Prime Minister.
Shehbaz Sharif also explained that for the first time, cash transfers of 5,000 rupees are made to deserve families in a transparent manner, allowing them to buy items according to their own preferences and needs. He added that the initiative will benefit four million families.
The Prime Minister also asked for the contribution of the stakeholders concerned in a week to explore the possibility of expanding the scope of the rescue package.
Earlier, he was informed in detail of the rescue program monitoring mechanism.
