President Asif Ali Zardari called on the federal government on Monday to increase wages and pensions in the upcoming budget, reduce income taxes for employee lessons and focus on creating jobs instead of reducing the workforce.

In his annual speech to the joint session of the Parliament marking the start of the new parliamentary year, Zardari underlined the serious economic difficulties encountered by the ordinary man, workers and employees. He underlined inflation, the high prices of essential goods and the increase in energy costs such as the keys to the burden affecting people.

The president stressed that the upcoming budget should bring real relief to citizens. He urged the government and the Parliament to take measures to increase wages and pensions, reduce income taxes on employee prices and reduce energy costs, which would facilitate financial pressure on the population.

“We must avoid reducing workforce and job cuts. Instead, our goal should be to create jobs and use the workforce formed in a productive way, “added Zardari.

As the first civil president to address Parliament for the eighth time, Zardari also underlined the need for inclusive and uniform development, ensuring that no province, district or village is left behind.

“The ignored and neglected areas require urgent attention from the federal government. They also need investments in infrastructure, education, health care and economic opportunities to combat their feeling of deprivation, “concluded the president.
