AI agents are web3 users we expected

Web3 has not been designed for large -scale humans; It was built for machines. Its complexity has limited its adoption, but the “Post Web” battery takes shape with AI agents emerging as autonomous economic actors.

Intelligent contracts, decentralized networks and verifiable calculation will remain. But now they are optimized for execution, coordination and automation based on intention.

The question is not to know if it happens, but how fast we have to adapt.

Over the past decade, we have tested decentralized systems and applications. While millions of people engage with blockchain networks, DEFI protocols and decentralized applications (DAPP), the reality is that web3 remains largely underused.

Despite around 10% of the world which had a crypto, only a fraction of these holders actively uses decentralized applications as a real alternative to web2 or centralized platforms. This disconnection is not due to a lack of capacity in web3 technology, but rather to its challenges of use and its inherent complexity.

With hindsight, web3 has never been designed for large -scale human users. It was designed for machines.

Now, with AI agents emerging as autonomous economic players, the sleeping giant of web3 functionality wakes up. The “post web” – a term that we have invented in aberrant companies – creates a world where agents perform tasks, manage assets and transmit in our name. Each component of the web battery will be reused. Once hampered by complexity, the infrastructure designed for a decentralized world is now perfectly suited to an internet optimized for machines.

AI agents will not only use web3. They will unlock all its potential.

The giant wakes up

Web3 was misunderstood. Many expected it to be a more decentralized version of web2, where users have their assets, participate in governance and interact with applications without authorization.

In practice, web3 has revolutionized Back-End systems. For the moment, its technology remains too complex for the average user to manage. Intelligent contracts, self -sufficiency and the bridge between channels, require time, efforts and technical understanding that most people simply do not have.

This is where AI agents change everything. Unlike humans, agents thrive complexity. They can process large amounts of information, automate complex workflows and operate transparently on decentralized networks. While human users find it difficult to integrate, agents can integrate directly into intelligent contracts, optimize efficiency and execute transactions without friction.

For the first time, Web3 will have users who can fully take advantage of its capacities. AI agents will interact transparently with a decentralized infrastructure, allowing Web3 to operate on the scale at which it has always been supposed.

Web technology stack: designed for machines

Web3 has spent the last decade building a decentralized infrastructure without considering AI. With the rise of autonomous AI agents, our reflection on this battery must basically change.

In the web, where AI agents replace humans as the main users, the battery undergoes two critical transformations:

  1. Optimization of existing Web3 battery for AI agents – upgrade of the decentralized infrastructure to support machine -oriented transactions, the execution of intention and autonomous coordination.
  2. Build a new Agent layer at the top – a new layer of calculation and coordination for the accommodation, management and orchestration of AI agents which manage social and economic activity in the name of users.

In our wider work in aberrant companies on the post web, we have examined this development in more detail. In simple terms, the web pile post consists of three basic layers, each essential to allow an internet optimized for machines.

1) The agentic layer: AI as a new interface

In the web, users will not have to navigate portfolios, exchanges or DAPPs; AI agents will do it for them. These agents act as personalized digital intermediaries, performing transactions, managing assets and making complex economic decisions.

For this to work, the aging layer will be the bridge between intention and execution. Users will express high -level goals and objectives based on intention, such as investment in assets, travel booking or contract negotiations, and agents will manage the rest.

Intelligent portfolios will evolve in sovereign identity centers, storing personal data, assets and authorizations, allowing agents to act with precision. This change means that instead of counting on centralized platforms, individuals will delegate actions to sovereign AI, giving them complete control while eliminating the need for direct interactions with complex systems.

The agency layer is the greatest green opportunity for the daring founders who have the desire and the capacity to combine probabilistic capacities of AI with deterministic intelligent contracts and a DLT. There is a need for markets, coordination layers, executives, etc., which must all be developed and improved.

2) The trusted layer: smart contracts & DLT as the backbone

If AI agents must perform real world tasks, they need deterministic and verifiable environments where transactions and agreements can be applied without ambiguity. This is where blockchain and smart contracts become essential.

Today’s AI models work on a probabilistic logic. Based on training data, they predict the next most likely result. However, economic transactions require certainty and execution: a banking transfer, a legal contract or a trade must be executed with an absolute purpose.

Intelligent contracts provide this missing piece. They offer immutable and self-executing agreements, allowing AI agents to carry out economic activity with complete transparency and verifiability. More importantly, decentralized books guarantee that agents focused on agents are secure, without authorization and minimized, preventing handling or central control of digital savings.

In short, the post web cannot work without the confidence layer of decentralized networks. Agents need verifiable execution environments, and web3 precisely provides this.

The change is clear for those who are built in web3 today: your infrastructure must be adapted to agents. Protocols that allow composability, transparent execution and verifiable data will surpass those based on fragmented manual processes. In short, the start -up rules book evolves quickly.

3) The infrastructure layer: calculation, data and depin

AI agents do not only need intelligent contracts; They need resources. They require computer feeding, storage and access to decentralized data networks to operate independently. This is where the decentralized physical infrastructure networks (backdrop) come into play.

Depin provides IT, storage and bandwidth on demand, allowing agents to operate on a large scale without relying on centralized cloud suppliers. Instead of a few hyperscalers such as AWS or Google Clock Controling AI Compute, a period distributes these resources on the networks without authorization, cost optimization, accessibility and resilience.

This layer guarantees that AI agents are not only participants in digital savings. These are sovereign entities capable of exploiting without centralized guards. Decentralized GPU networks such as Akash and Render to data exchanges without authorization such as Ocean Protocol, the infrastructure for agency autonomy is already formed.

The creation of startups in the post-web era must consider how their products integrate into the decentralized calculation and storage markets. AI-STIT applications will require inexpensive, scalable and without authorization infrastructure, and projects that provide it will become fundamental to the new economy.

Apart from these three layers, there are more granular components such as technologies improving confidentiality, modularity, middleware, scaling mechanisms, etc., which are largely one or more of these categories, of which we discuss in detail in our other work.

Internet is being rewritten

For decades, the Internet has been built around human interfaces, platforms, applications and centralized guards who dictate the way we interact with digital services. This era ends.

The post web battery does not only improve the web3; He redefines it in a world where AI agents are the main users. With an agency layer for execution, a trusted layer for verifiability and a layer of decentralized infrastructure for the scale and resilience, we are witnessing the rise of an autonomous internet and focused on the machine.

This is not the next version of the web; This is the disappearance of the web as we know it. The question is not to know if this change will occur, but if you build for this.
