Finally, one of my favorite party game providers, Jackbox Games, is finally preparing for a beta version of its upcoming games on smart televisions and “ other platforms ” in the spring of 2025, which means that it is the ideal time to be the best intelligent televisions.
The game company has announced a new application for smart televisions and other platforms that will allow you to play a selected range from its popular party games. Unfortunately, the application will have announcements, but my excitement has overshadowed this drawback.
Known for its multi-playing party game catalog which is perfect for throwing shadow on your best friends, the range of interactive jackbox games is generally presented in “ party packs ” composed of a handful of different games that you can play as you wish.
Until now, the Jackbox game service has only been accessible on PC or play consoles, which means that it has not always been easy to play it on the big screen. You can also subscribe to Jackbox games on the Amazon Cloud Luna game service for monthly costs of $ 4.99, but this dedicated application for smart televisions, among other devices, should make it much easier.
According to the official Jackbox blog post, the company has expressed its desire to render its services more accessible: “It is always our goal of bringing these games to as many people as possible and making them as easy to play as possible. This is why we are announcing a new Jackbox application that will allow you to play Jackbox games on your smart television and other platforms”.
The SMART TV version of its service will work in partnership with AWS Gamelift Streams which “allows (we) to quickly launch and broadcast games with all kinds of devices, smart televisions to web applications”.
Instead of buying individual party packs, the Jackbox Smart TV version will freely offer a small collection of games supported by advertising before introducing subscription fees that give users full access to all of its catalog. However, the price is not yet known for this.
In the current state of things, there is not much information on what the Smart TV models will support the application or which countries will first have access. However, we assume that Jackbox goes more in detail closer to the launch.
