An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Karachi has extended the pre-trial detention of Armaghan, the first suspect in the Mustafa Amir Murder case for an additional seven days.

The court ordered the investigation to submit a stage report at the next hearing. Prosecutors argued that more time was needed to recover a laptop and a mobile phone, which they think contain crucial evidence.

Armaghan’s defense lawyer opposed the request, saying that the police had completed his investigation and that pre -trial detention was not necessary.

However, the court arose on the accusation side and approved the extension.

During the hearing, the judge asked if the evidence entered had been properly sealed, to which the investigation confirmed compliance. The court also allowed Armaghan’s parents to meet him briefly.

In addition, according to a report, Armaghan admitted the crime and explained the reasons for the murder of Mustafa. The report revealed that Armaghan directed a call center in a bungalow in the Khayaban-E-Momin region of Defense, where 30 to 40 boys and girls worked, as well as 30 to 35 security guards stationed in the premises. The bungalow illegally housed three lions.

The interrogation report has also highlighted Armaghan’s participation in the business and drug use. Before the murder of Mustafa, Armaghan, with his friend Shiraz, planned to burn Mustafa’s car and had already intended to harm him. The report revealed that in 2019, Armaghan was involved in a case concerning the importation of drugs, but he obtained a deposit in this case.

According to the investigation, Armaghan himself was a drug addict. The day before the New Year, Armaghan organized a party at the bungalow, where Shiraz was also present until 3 am. However, Mustafa did not attend the party.

The next day, Armaghan and Mustafa had a personal dispute, which transformed a violent confrontation. On January 6, Armaghan invited Shiraz to the bungalow to take drugs together and Mustafa arrived around 9 p.m. During this meeting, Armaghan attacked Mustafa with an iron rod.

Armaghan and Shiraz stripped Mustafa with his clothes, linked his hands and feet with a white leaf and dragged her on the stairs. Mustafa’s car was parked in the car park of the bungalow, and they placed his body in the trunk of the car, after which they took him to Hub.

The report details more than Armaghan asked two employees to clean blood spots in the room. Armaghan also took clothing, mobile phones and Mustafa Internet devices. When they couldn’t find fuel in the car, Armaghan took a fuel box from the bungalow. The report explains that Armaghan threw Mustafa’s mobile phone and other personal effects on the way.

They arrived at Hub around 4:30 am, poured gas on the car and set it on fire. Armaghan and Shiraz then went to a hotel for breakfast. An employee of the hotel noticed a weapon and the two men fled the premises. After walking for several hours and hitch, they returned to Karachi.
