- The next Xbox console would be planned for a 2027 version
- Sources say that the new generation console has been “fully lit” in Microsoft
- Microsoft also plans to launch a PC game laptop this year
Microsoft plans to publish the next Xbox console in 2027.
It is according to Windows Central, which claims that the sources indicated that the “internal successor” was “entirely lit by the CEO of CEO Satya Nadella” and is now “fully in production”.
It is understood that the new generation equipment will include a “premium successor to the powerful Xbox series”, and several new controller options, and should be released in 2027.
Microsoft previously confirmed that a Xbox Series X successor was in preparation. In 2021, barely six months after the launch of its current consoles, the company said that it worked “hard on new equipment and new platforms”, but could not offer more details at the time.
Although it seems that the next Xbox console is a few years old, Windows Central also reports that a partner of the PC game portable console should be launched later this year.
It is said that the company works with an unknown “OEM of PC” to publish a portable console as a partner Xbox currently under the code name “Keenan”.
There are no specific details to unpack for the moment, but the sources of Window Central say that the portable device looks unequivocally “Xbox”, with an official Xbox guide button and design sensitivities.
In November 2024, the boss of Xbox Phil Spencer confirmed that Microsoft worked on Xbox portable prototypes, saying that “the expectation is that we would do something” in the category of portable devices.
