Liverpool: Paris Saint-Germain exceeded Liverpool in a dramatic penalty shootout to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League after the early goal of Odsmane Dembele in Anfield has canceled their first leg deficit.
By dragging 1-0 from last week’s first stage in Paris, PSG equaled the tie on the total thanks to the first strike from Ousmane Dembele to Anfield.
There was a lot of chance but no other lenses after 90 minutes or additional time, taking the tie at a shooting.
PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma then made heroic by saving penalties from Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones, while the four kicks of the team outside were converted by Vitinha, Goncalo Ramos, Dembele and Diry Doue.
The French champions, who have never won the competition, now qualify for a draw next month against Aston Villa or Club Brugge.
Villa welcomes the Belgian part on Wednesday and led 3-1 from the first leg.
