Quetta train services suspended after Jaffer Express Attack

The Quetta train services to other regions of the country were interrupted following a terrorist attack on the Jaffar Express.

According to rail authorities, no trains will work with Quetta today until further notice due to security problems.

It is important to note that yesterday, the Jaffar Express, traveling from Quetta to Peshawar, was attacked by activists and 500 passengers were taken hostage.

To date, 27 terrorists have been killed in the customs clearance operation and 155 passengers have been rescued.

The train, which left Quetta at 9:30 am, was criticized by unknown armed people while it was in the regions of Gadalar and Piro Kanri. The train driver was seriously injured in the attack and then died of his injuries.

Sources of security report that the operation against terrorists is underway, with suicide bomber using women and children as human shields. These bombers took up women and children in three different places.

Due to the presence of women and children with the suicide bomber, the operation is in the process of extreme caution.

Leaders condemn the assault against train passengers

The management of the country, including President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, firmly condemned the terrorist attack on the Jaffar Express in Balutchistan and appreciated the security forces for their effective and timely response.

The president praised the value of the security forces for saving the passengers of Jaffar Express and said that attacks on civilians and innocent passengers were inhuman and condemnable acts. The president said that no religion or society authorized such repugnant acts.

Prime Minister Shehbaz, according to a separate press release published from the Prime Minister’s office, said the security officers and the terrorists were courageously eliminated during the current response.

“Despite difficult terrain, the morale of the security forces is high and they repel loose terrorists with their action in a timely manner,” said Shehbaz.
